28th-30th of January 2010 University of Basel, Englisches Seminar, Nadelberg 6, “Schönes Haus”, CH-4051 Basel Less than six months before the first football World Cup to place on African soil, the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES) co organises with the Basler Afrika Bibliographien of the University of Basel an international conference entitled « Visualising the Game. Global Perspectives on Football in Africa ». From Thursday 28th until Saturday 30th of January 2010, thirty researchers from nine different countries will present their researches on African football and its social, cultural and politic dimensions. The conference will take place at the English Seminar at the University of Basel (« Schönes Haus » building, Nadelberg 6, 4051 Basel).
