The FIFA Master Alumni Association — connecting graduates worldwide.
The FIFA Master Alumni Association, FMA, is an independent alumni association of those who graduated from the International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport, also known as FIFA Master. The FMA is not a department or division of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
The association was established in 2003, under article 60 of the Swiss Civil Code and domiciled in Neuchatel, Switzerland.
The FIFA Master programme provides each postgraduate with one of the most unique and memorable experiences of a lifetime. For each of us when that year of our lives comes to an end, we all want to give something back to the programme that provided us with such a tremendous life experience.
Therefore, with that Mission, on Wednesday 9th July 2003, at the Graduation Ceremony of the 3rd edition of the FIFA Master, the official International Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport Alumni Association was born. That was later rebranded to FIFA Master Alumni Association.
To make the association a highly effective network platform and organization, the FMA Committee holds every year a World Gathering - every two years during a major sporting event - to assemble all the alumni, conduct a Congress and collectively take the decisions that will lead us in the right direction and help us grow further to reach our ultimate goal: become the number 1 sports business alumni network in the world.
To date, fourteen world gatherings have taken place:
2006, Munich, Germany, during the FIFA World Cup
2008 Basel, Switzerland, during UEFA EURO
2010 Durban, South Africa, during the FIFA World Cup,
2012 London, UK, during the Olympic Games,
2014 Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during the FIFA World Cup
2016 Paris, France, during the UEFA EURO
2017, Neuchâtel, Switzerland, the first organised independetly from a major sports event.
2018, Moscow, Russia, during the FIFA World Cup.
2019, Lyon, France, during the FIFA Women's World Cup
2021, Zurich, Switzerland, at the FIFA Headquarters
2022, Doha, Qatar, during the FIFA World Cup
*2023, worldwide - the first Decentralised FMA World Gathering
2024, Paris, France, during the Olympic Games
2025, Zurich, Switzerland, at the FIFA Headquarters
2026, Mexico City, Mexico, and New York/New Jersey, USA, during the FIFA World Cup
Lately the FMA has extended its global impact, through strategic collaborations, such as the one with the United Nations, which culminated in the delivery of the "Event", in July 2026.
We also concentrate efforts on “Alumni and Entrepreneurship” to encourage each member to take initiative and start companies and businesses amongst themselves.
Thanks to the great initiative from our members, the FMA has launched the Jean-Louis Juvet Scholarship, to provide partial or full support to exceptional prospective students.
We hope the above will inspire you to apply for the FIFA Master and join our family and network. We look forward to welcoming you to FMA in the near future.
