
John Tomás Padilla Monterde is an alumnus of the 2nd Edition of the FIFA Master (Class of 2002). He brings over 25 years of international leadership across sports administration, commercial management, and strategic communications. His journey in sports leadership began in his native Bolivia, where he served with the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) as General Coordinator and interim General Manager. In that role, he led the operational and financial execution of the 1997 Copa América, spearheaded the modernization of the Estadio Hernando Siles, and implemented FIFA strategic development programs. Following his graduation from the FIFA Master, John founded SportsComm Padilla Monterde in Switzerland, advising international sports entities—including CONCACAF on federation restructuring and competitions, as well as the European Beach Volleyball Tour on commercial strategy. Since 2008, he has applied his expertise as Commercial Director at Climalife in Switzerland, overseeing market strategy, institutional relations, and financial reporting across European markets. John holds a journalism degree from the Universidad Católica Boliviana, a Master in Management, Law and Humanities of Sport (FIFA Master / CIES), and a postgraduate degree (DEA) in Communication from the Université Catholique de Louvain. A multilingual executive fluent in Spanish, French, English, Italian, and Portuguese, he also holds a UEFA C coaching license from the Swiss Football Association.
