FIFA Master Alumni Take New Roles in FIFA Independent Committees
We are proud to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our FIFA Master Alumni, whose expertise continues to shape world football. Recently, five alumni were appointed to serve on FIFA Independent Committees, a testament to the growing global influence and leadership of our community.
The new appointments include:
Francesca Sanzone (FMA’03, Italy)
Member of the FIFA Women’s Club Competitions Committee.
- Syed Mohsen Gilani (FMA’03) – Member of the FIFA Youth Boys Competitions Committee.
Gilani currently serves as President of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF).
- Francesca Sanzone (FMA’03) – Member of the FIFA Women’s Club Competitions Committee.
Sanzone is Head of Women's Football at the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and has long been involved in the growth of the women’s game in Italy and Europe.
- Tsuneyasu Miyamoto (FMA’13) – Chairperson of the FIFA Laws of the Game Committee.
The former Japan national team captain and coach currently serves as President of the Japan Football Association, bringing both sporting and administrative experience to his new position.
- Julio Avellar (FMA’07) – Member of the FIFA Men’s National Teams Competitions Committee.
Avellar is Director of Competitions at the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), overseeing national team tournaments and international events.
- Ji Sung Park (FMA’17) – Member of the FIFA Men’s Football Stakeholders Committee.
A former professional player for clubs including Manchester United and PSV Eindhoven, Park now works in football development and ambassadorial roles in South Korea.
These appointments reflect the continued presence of FIFA Master alumni in international football governance, with graduates contributing to the sport across different regions and areas of expertise.
